Because plant medicines are pharmacologically active, they should be regarded with the same kind of care and caution as any other kind of medication. Even beyond what drugs can present, plant medicines could have quality issues, and there are still a lot of unknowns. Veterinarians need to give plant medicines more credence and realize they could greatly interfere with patient care.
