The simplest way to manage this complication is to turn the gas anesthesia down if possible and give intravenous fluids, Dr. Mama continues. Those 2 things should get the patient to a normal range. She says surgical stimulation can also help by getting the sympathetic nervous system activated. And when those methods don't work, Dr. Mama says she usually uses vasoactive drugs, such as dopamine or dobutamine.
