Ceva Animal Health has launched Adaptil Junior, an anti-anxiety product formulated specifically for puppies.

Ceva Animal Health has become an industry leader in providing companion animals with anxiety relief through Adaptil for dogs and Feliway for cats. The company now offers Adaptil Junior, an anxiety relief product created especially for puppies.

Similar to Adaptil, the puppy formula contains an artificial pheromone that is released through an adjustable collar that the puppy wears for 4 consecutive weeks. The pheromone, a replica of the naturally occurring pheromones with which mother dogs calm and reassure their puppies, can be used to comfort newly adopted puppies and help them learn. The collar is meant to be worn at all times (except for when bathing or grooming) to envelop the puppy in continuous “comforting messages.”

According to Ceva, Adaptil Junior helps console puppies and reduce night crying and whining by 86%. When worn as instructed, the product’s soothing effect also allows animals to adapt to their new surroundings in as few as 3 days. Studies have also shown that puppies using Adaptil Junior are less fearful and anxious during puppy classes, resulting in better long-term socialization.

A new collar can be fitted to the puppy each month to provide uninterrupted support until the pet reaches age 6 months, which aligns with the end of the biological socialization period.

For dogs that continue to experience anxiety, the Adaptil line of products—which includes collars, diffusers, and tablets—can be used.
